Commitment to Safety

SILENCE IS PERMISSION

Safety and regulatory compliance are top priorities to Miller Bros. Ensuring a safe workplace and safeguarding our employees is something we take very seriously.  Miller Bros. has developed and adopted a corporate safety program that is committed to the safe completion of all projects. This is accomplished through training and seminars to ensure employees are fully aware of the dangers associated with our industry and the precautions necessary to avert such dangers. Our commitment to safety extends to all subcontractors working on our projects, the vendors delivering materials, and clients with whom we work.

Our program includes implementation of safety measures, as well as the enforcement of OSHA, NFPA 70E, DOT, EPA, and NESC standards.  Our supervisors are authorized and tasked with enforcing safety standards enacted by OSHA and to ensure the overall safety of the project and employees.  At Miller Bros., the personal commitment of each of our employees to do their best work includes working safely.

Safety is a competitive advantage for Miller Bros. right at the top of the list along with quality work, on time and on budget. In many cases, our health and safety requirements exceed OSHA and other industry standards.  At Miller Bros. the personal commitment of each of our employees to do their best work includes working safely.

Our safety programs are wide-ranging and flexible, with the ability to incorporate industry and site-specific requirements for behavior based safety, lockout/tagout, subcontractor safety, etc.   We have industry leading programs in a number of areas, including:

Job safety analysis to identify, analyze and control potential hazards or risks associated with specific job tasks and equipment operation, and then ensure that all precautions and protective equipment requirements are in place.

A Comprehensive approach to hazard assessment, including formalized fall arrest plans for every project.

Line-of-sight supervision requirements to ensure that work is done within sight of a supervisor or foreman, and every incident investigation we conduct addresses this requirement.

No matter how challenging the work or working conditions – and we take on some of the most difficult projects in the industry – the commitment to safety is consistent and evident on every one of our projects. Our employees and clients expect and deserve nothing less.

Miller Bros received special recognition from NECA for their excellence in safety. Miller Bros received the 2016 and 2017 “Zero Injury” and “Safety Excellence” Award.

“NECA’s Safety Excellence and Zero Injury Awards program is an elite safety recognition program focused on recognizing thriving companies that excel in multiple areas of their safety and health programs. Awards are given to member companies that consistently have OSHA recordable injury and fatality rates at levels lower than the industry standard, and implement internal company safety practices above and beyond basic compliance. The Zero-Injury Award recognizes those member-companies that have worked a full calendar year without recordable incidents. The Safety Excellence Award is the association’s premier recognition program, and acknowledges member-contractors safety performance.”
